Road Tripping Through the Midwest

After our amazing stay at the Kimpton Grand Minneapolis, we took off on our road trip through America’s heartland that would cover 3300 miles through 13 states in just 8 days. In the vlog embedded below, I tried to get back to what matters when creating a good video, the story. Sure great B-Roll and cool transitions are great, but I feel like in my last few videos I was so focused on creating an epic cinematic video, that I totally lost sight of the most important aspect of any good video, which is the story.

This is only part 1 of this amazing adventure through the Midwestern states that people typically just fly over, so there is still a lot of the adventure to come! I would really love to know what you guys think of this style of vlog compared to some of my other stuff, so I can create the content that you love seeing. I couldn’t believe how beautiful South Dakota was. I would love to go back and spend a bit more time hiking in the black hills and in Badlands National Park. These are places people really discount when they are making their bucket lists, but if you want my opinion, I think everyone should do a road trip through America’s heartland. We have another road trip here on the horizon, this time through the southern part of the country as we make the temporary move from Tampa to Las Vegas. We plan on stopping in New Orleans, Dallas, and Santa Fe on the way, so I am excited to check a few more states off my list!
