Hotel Review: Conrad Centennial Singapore

Conrad Centennial Singapore

Conrad Centennial Singapore

The Conrad Centennial Singapore is located in the Marina Bay district of the city a couple hundred meters from the Promenade MRT station. The Marina Bay district is the tourist hub of the city, which makes The Conrad Singapore’s location great for getting around and seeing in as much as possible! I was able to score a great deal on this hotel. There was a Hilton HHonors rate where HHonors members got 35% off. By booking this through my Citi Prestige card I also got my fourth (and most expensive) night for free!

Conrad Singapore Check-In

After 42 hours of flying, I finally arrived at the Conrad Singapore. The lobby of the Conrad Centennial is grand and spacious. I was directed towards the check-in desk by one of the concierge employees. Check-In was quick, but they had to make sure my room was ready, so I was escorted up to the Executive Lounge on the 31st floor where the daily tea service was going on. After a quick 5 minute wait my room was ready so I head down the the 16th floor where my room was located. Because of my Hilton Gold Status, I was upgraded to the Centennial Suite, which was a pleasant surprise!

The room was spacious but felt dated. There was a spacious living room with a comfortable couch. The bedroom was big and offered a nice view of the fountain of wealth in Suntec city. The bed was comfortable and pillows were great. If the pillows weren’t to your liking they did have a pillow menu where you could choose your desired firmness. The bathroom was also huge and came with Conrad’s signature rubber duckie. The shower had great water pressure, but the sweet spot for temperature was very small. About a millimeter separated just right and OMG I just scalded my whole body?. I didn’t spend that much time in the room, but updated TVs and little touches would be appreciated.

The service throughout the hotel was fantastic. My room was serviced quickly each day, and they didn’t bother me while I was in the room. The concierge desk was very helpful by helping me get the Singapore MRT Tourist card and also with setting up my airport transportation.

Dining at the Conrad Centennial

If there is one takeaway from my trip to Singapore, it is that they LOVE❤ their food! The Conrad Centennial has 4 in-house dining options. Oscar is the buffet-style restaurant, The Golden Penoy – a Cantonese style restaurant, The Lobby Lounge, and the Terrace. Every day the hotel also offered Hilton Gold and Diamond members, along with guests in certain rooms Breakfast, Tea, and cocktail hour in the executive lounge.img_6825

I wanted to venture out as much as possible to experience the real food and culture of Singapore, so I didn’t have a chance to enjoy any of the main dining options at the Conrad Centennial. I did, however, have room service off the Golden Penoy menu and it was very very good. I also had breakfast and tea in the executive lounge several times and was quite happy with the spread. There wasn’t an overwhelming amount of options, but the staples were there and executed well. The coffee was really good too!

Conrad Centennial Singapore’s Other Amenities

The Conrad had a nice large pool area, as well as a spa and fitness center. I didn’t have time to enjoy the spa or pool but went down to the fitness room to run one morning when it was raining. The fitness room was decent sized with treadmills, ellipticals, and a rowing machine. In the back of the fitness center, there were machines and dumbells for you to get your strength training workout while staying. Near the entrance, there was also complimentary water and Cran-apple juice.

Final Thoughts on the Conrad Centennial Singapore

Overall this was a great stay. I slept like a baby in the room, and really enjoyed the breakfast in the executive lounge. The location is perfect for anyone like me who wanted to see as much as possible during my time in Singapore. At less than half the price for a room at the Marina Bay Sands (and WAYYYY less crowded) the Conrad Centennial is a great choice for your stay in Singapore. Unfortunately, HHonors award rates seem to be very limited for this property, but keep an eye out for deals like the one I found as Hilton offers them frequently!
