Often the first question I’m asked when I tell people about my blog is “What’s your favorite place you’ve been?”. To a traveler I think this is one of the hardest questions in the world to answer. Each destination is unique and as I keep traveling my list will change. I really can’t think of a place I’ve been that I’ve left disappointed that I went there. That is the great thing about travel. Every city and country is different, and if you approach your travel like you approach meeting new people you will only enrich your life.
At the time of writing this I have been to 34 countries and I’ll add 3 more before the end of the year. Here is the list of my favorite destinations up to this point.
Dubai is a fascinating city. Everything is brand new, there is so much to do and see that it was impossible to see everything in the two and a half days we spent there. I would love to visit again and spend more time walking around the city rather than the two HUGE malls!
Singapore was one of my more recent trips. Singapore makes this list of my favorite destinations because of the abundance of AMAZING, and inexpensive food. You can eat Michelin Starred food for under $5! Singapore is also a beautiful city with plenty to do. United and Singapore Airlines both recently began flying direct from the west coast to Singapore.
Monaco may be the most luxurious city (country) in the world. The tiny city state is located on the Mediterranean Sea east of Nice, France. Monaco has great food, a beautiful landscape, and is home to one of the world’s largest yacht shows each September. If you ever have the chance to go to the Monaco Yacht Show, do it. This is one of my favorite destinations because it is great to experience the luxury that is Monaco.
Ireland is a beautiful country. We tried to see as much as possible in our four days there by renting a car and staying in Bed & Breakfasts in each town we visited. I couldn’t recommend this more to someone who wants to visit Ireland. The people are the best part of Ireland, everyone was so nice and genuine. The beer and whiskey are pretty good too! ?
My favorite destination so far has to be the Maldives. The picturesque atolls and the underwater landscapes are worth the long journey to get there. There is no shortage of places to stay, but when you go a overwater bungalow is worth it! The Maldives are know for having some of the clearest water in the world, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that we spent most of our time scuba diving! The Maldives should be on everyone’s bucket list because I don’t think I’ve been to a more beautiful place.
There are so many places that I still want (need) to see. I’m interested to see if and how this list evolves as I continue traveling.
